Unlocking Potential: The Business Case for Gender and Inclusive Finance
The African Inclusive Finance Week (SAM) the continent’s largest event dedicated to financial inclusion, brought together investors, microfinance institutions, policymakers, and innovators in Nairobi to exchange knowledge and co-create solutions for more equitable growth.
The event took place from October 13 to 17, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
As part of the program, the Global Gender-Smart Fund (GGSF) led the Technical Assistance Workshop: “Unlocking Potential – The Business Case for Gender and Inclusive Finance”, which explored how gender-responsive strategies drive innovation, profitability, and social impact.
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and practical tools, participants examined how inclusive leadership, gender-disaggregated data, and equitable product design can open new markets and strengthen institutional performance.
The workshop was facilitated by the GGSF Technical Assistance team, led by Nawal Allal, Shilpi Shastri, and Veronika Karpoich, with the support of NIRAS.
GGSF’s participation in SAM 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to empowering partner financial institutions to build more inclusive, sustainable systems that generate lasting impact for women entrepreneurs and their communities.
